The bar graph in the above display shows the planetary A index. Red and yellow bars indicate disturbed and moderately disturbed days, respectively. Green bars indicate quiet days. During summer/equinox periods the ionospheric depression response may be seen on the days following geomagnetically disturbed days. This is indicated by the dip in the T index plots.
