WARS02

(Workshop on the Applications of Radio Science)

Leura, NSW Australia (20 - 22 February 2002)

In addition to appearing on this CDROM, the WARS02 Proceedings is also published on the world-wide-web on the NCRS Website htpp://www.ips.gov.au/ncrs in accordance with the DETYA Guidelines at the time of publication for papers to be classified in the E1 category.

WARS02 is the fourth in a series of conferences of national significance organised by the National Committee for Radio Science (NCRS). It brings together Australian and International scientists and engineers conducting research in areas relevant to the various Commissions of URSI (International Union of Radio Science) with which Australia is affiliated through the work of the National Committee for Radio Science.

Through the invited speakers program, Australian and international scientists of international standing review a number of new developments in international radio science in which Australia has an interest.

The contributed papers submitted to WARS02 provide an opportunity for Australian scientists and postgraduate students to present their work to their national peers and in particular, to provide an important opportunity for cross-fertilisation of ideas between the wide range of sub-areas that make up radio science in Australia and internationally.

Each paper submitted was reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Authors were required to respond to reviewer comments and papers undergoing major revision were sent to referees a second time. Reviewers were issued with guidelines and criteria for publication consistent with those issued by several international journals, premier in their field. For a paper to be accepted for publication, two referees had to be satisfied that it met these guidelines and criteria.

In some cases, papers were submitted too late for the refereeing process, or were information papers where refereeing was not appropriate. To give a complete record of the WARS02 Conference, these papers are included in the Proceedings under two headings: e-abstract, which is an extended abstract, and abstract, which gives a short description of the poster paper presented.

Where possible, the PDF files on this website were optimised for screen presentation. For convenient downloading, print versions have been added in zip files. The contents were prepared using Netscape 4 and Explorer 5 under Windows-98 and lower case file names were used throughout.
