IPS Aurora Alerts provide notification of times when aurorae are more likely to be seen at more equatorial latitudes than is normal. Because the likelihood of seeing an aurora depends greatly on location, the local time, and the sky conditions, IPS Aurora Alerts should be considered only as an indication that space weather conditions are favourable for aurorae sightings. Reports of observations of aurorae that are sent to IPS are collected in a page which can be accessed by clicking here. IPS Aurora Alerts are generated from K indices calculated from IPS magnetometer output. Using ips-aurora-alert

Subscribing to ips-aurora-alert
Subscribe to ips-aurora-alert by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext.
