IPS GEOSTAT (GEOmagnetic STorm Alert Tracking System) provides 6 alerts that are issued at different stages along the passage of a Solar event from its origin to its impact as a Geomagnetic Storm. Lead time for GEOSTAT alerts range from 2 to 3 days for GEOSTAT-5 to "STORM IN PROGRESS" for GEOSTAT-0. As the alert tracks from GEOSTAT-5 down to GEOSTAT-0 the likelyhood of a geomagnetic storm increases. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the ips-geostat-system Archives.
