The National Committee for Radio Science
The National Committee for Radio Science is a committee of the Australian Academy of Science. The aims of the Committee are to:
liaise with URSI, the International Union of Radio Science, and other appropriate national and international bodies and societies;
propose and encourage activities in Australia, either jointly with other bodies or separately;
ensure the maximum participation by Australian scientists in relevant activities of URSI; and
keep URSI informed at appropriate times of Australian opinions and plans.
The NCRS website is at www.ips.gov.au/IPSHosted/NCRS/
This mail group has been set up:
to assist people interested in the activities of the NCRS to communicate more readily with others having similar interests,
to offer a forum for radio science discussions of interest to the Australian community, and thereby broaden the scope of the NCRS,
to give the NCRS Officers an easy way to communicate with all of you.
This is an administed list hosted on computers owned by IPS, and hence by the Australian Government. To maintain some control over how it is used, members will be able to alter their membership information, but new members will need to send email to phil@ips.gov.au (Phil Wilkinson) requesting that they be made a member.
Notes and questions to the list can be submitted directly by addressing the message to ncrs-general@ips.gov.au. However, they will not be forwarded to the list members until I have approved them. I have decided to use this level of security to prevent the list being used to spam people. I do not intend to censor or inhibit discussions beyond control unexpected messages from unknown parties.
