Hello INAG Members,

At the beginning of this year we celebrated 75 years of
collecting ionospheric data at the Chilton / Slough ionosonde station.
It is ironic that now that same station, together with Pt
Stanley, is threatened with closure! Slough station has
great symbolic importance to our field. Pt Stanley, with
its unique location, has an equally significant role
in the Southern Hemisphere.

We should all register our appreciation of their successful pasts
and our expectation of their important futures. To do this
effectively, we should all send letters and emails to the people
directly concerned with the decisions leading to the
threatened closure, together with drop copies for those most
directly affected by these possible decisions.

Attached is a very important letter from Sarah James calling
on us to provide supporting letters. Her letter contains the
addresses of the people you should write to, and also contains
a fact-sheet of key important attributes of these stations to
help us compose our replies.

This attachment is also available in the INAG Bulletin.

best wishes,
Phil
