To all members of URSI-G.

At the last URSI General Assembly in Maastricht, a Joint Working Group of
Commission F and G was formed entitled "Atmospheric Remote Sensing using
Satellite Navigation Systems". A Special Symposium on this topic, which will
bring together researchers from both the ionised and neutral atmosphere
communities
is taking place in Matera, Italy from 13-15 October 2003.

Topics:
- Measurement of tropospheric refractivity, water vapour and ionospheric
total electron content using ground-based GNSS sensors
- GNSS radio occultation
- Novel radio occultation techniques
- Scintillation - ionospheric and tropospheric effects
- Imaging and data assimilation techniques

The call for papers is closing on 18 August, please see
http://www.congrex.nl/03c41/
for more information.

Looking forward to seeing you in Matera,

best regards,

Bertram Arbesser-Rastburg and Cathryn Mitchell
