IONO-LOFAR-SKADS Consulting meeting 

on 17 - 19 October, 2007 in Dwingeloo, The Netherlands.

The purpose of this meeting is to bring together the ionospheric community in 
Europe and the ionospheric calibration teams with the LOFAR project and the FP6 
SKA Design Study project.

The agenda for the meeting includes:

1. characteristics of the mid-latitude ionosphere,
2. ionospheric research areas with LOFAR and SKA,
3. ionospheric calibration schemes for the LOFAR and SKA systems and meta-data,
4. evaluation of ionospheric calibration procedures implemented in radio astronomy,
5. identification and specification of ionospheric data products for ionospheric research 
    and other applications.

Program

The meeting will start on Wednesday 17 Oct at 09:00 and will end Friday 19 Oct at 14:00.
The Program will consist of Topical Sessions and will allow Workshop Session on selected
topics. The program will allow time for informal interaction with other participants.

The SOC maybe invite participants to present review talks about special subjects.
We note that a meeting is also planned in Vaxjo, SE for June 2008 that will include a 
workshop on ionospheric research with LOFAR and LOIS. 

The SOC requests that you also inform colleagues (not on this mailing list) with 
interest in this area of research and development about this meeting.

Registration

A web interface can be found at http://www.lofar.org/workshop/iono/ to facilitate 
abstract submission and registration of all participants. Because of logistics the number 
of participants needs to be limited to 35.

Venue

The meeting will be hosted by the LOFAR and SKADS projects and will be held at the 
ASTRON Headquarters in Dwingeloo, The Netherlands

A block reservation has been made from 16 - 20 Oct for 25 rooms at the Valk Hotel in 
nearby Spier-Dwingeloo. The guarantee for these rooms expires on 20 September.
Participants are requested to make their reservation for the Valk hotel in
Spier-Dwingeloo using the website.
