ISEA 12 : Third Announcement and Call for Papers

The organizing Committee (OC) is pleased to make the 3rd announcement

regarding the 12th International Symposium on Equatorial Aeronomy, to

be held in Crete, Greece, May 18-24, 2008. At this time, we are

pleased to invite all colleagues who are interested in attending ISEA

12 to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations of their

work. The ISEA 12 home page (http://isea12.physics.uoc.gr) has

instructions on how to submit an abstract. The web site also contains

information on registration, hotel reservations, financial assistance

and travel.

DEADLINES: The deadline for reduced price hotel reservations and

early registration is January 31, 2008. The deadline for applying for

financial assistance is January 15, 2008.

The deadline for abstract submission is February 15, 2008; please see

instructions at http://isea12.physics.uoc.gr/index.php?show=abstract .

MEETING INFORMATION: ISEA is held approximately every four years and

is a major event in the field of Aeronomy. It serves as a forum for

scientists to report and discuss recent research results and progress

relating to the physics of the mesosphere, thermosphere and

ionosphere at equatorial, low- and mid-latitudes.

The ISEA 12 program includes 11 oral and 4 poster sessions

distributed over five and a half conference days, with one day in the

middle of the week reserved for a full-day excursion. The first day

sessions are dedicated to the memory of Tor Hagfors and will include

tutorials to be delivered by leading members of our community. The

last session of the meeting is devoted to discussing the future

directions of the field and will include invited talks with time

allotted for audience participation. The remaining sessions cover a

broad range of atmospheric and ionospheric topics and are now open

for abstract submissions. More information on session topics and a

list of invited speakers attending the conference can be found at the

ISEA 12 home page, mentioned above.

We expect 120 to 150 participants at ISEA 12. If you plan to attend

the meeting, please bookmark the ISEA 12 page http://isea12.physics.uoc.gr
<http://isea12.physics.uoc.gr/> and take action now.

Best regards and thanks for your attention.
